The history of Valledolmo, a pleasant country placed in the hinterland of Palermo, begun 350 years ago when, in the once said Ulmo valley, a gentleman from Genua, Giuseppe Cutelli Cicala, founded Castelnormanno, to which joined " seu vallis Ulmi (also know as vallis Ulmi)", from which the actual name comes.
The city center, still showing its original structure, is embellished by clean narrow lanes and evocative corners; it guards the reasts of the baronial palace and the simple architectures of the churches, a sign of the popular devotion and of the faith that, grown as well as the country, are still alive today, as testified by the cult for the Patron San Antonio from Padua and the celebration of Easter with the Descent of the Angels.
Surrounded by a territory rich of charming landscapes and natural atmospheres, vocated to agriculture and sheep rearing, famous for its wines and cheeses, Valledolmo looks to the future defending the traditions and valuing its own cultural patrimony.
